Construction of a new public playground will start soon in the Missak Manouchian Park
Following the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Keron Development Foundation and Paper Story LLC, construction of a new public playground will soon begin in the Misak Manushyan Park.
This is the third project within the public playgrounds’ initiative jointly implemented by the Keron Development Foundation and the Kentron Administrative District, and it will be brought to life with the support of Paper Story. The first playground, “Karmrakhayt: Secrets of the Hidden River,” was opened on September 21 in the Circular Park, and the second, “Vishapagorg: Memory of the Tree of Life” was inaugurated on December 14 in the Khachkars Park.
The project aims to create an inclusive public play space that meets international standards and is designed for children of different age groups.
The new playground, titled “Armenian Inventors – Science Inside Out ” is inspired by Armenian scientific thought and creates a unique play environment where children not only play, but also gradually discover the world of science through imagination, movement, and experimentation.
The total area of the playground is about 700 m². Its central feature is a 6-meter-tall play tower, around which the entire play scenario unfolds, incorporating various interactive elements that reference key achievements in physics, astronomy, and engineering.
The playground is designed for children aged 3–12, providing a comfortable, safe, and creative environment, as well as a multifunctional play experience.
It supports children’s physical, social, and cognitive development, while its playful educational elements introduce them to notable Armenian scientists and their contributions to science.
Each play zone has its own thematic focus: the main tower zone includes nets, slides, and science panels that symbolize discovery, innovation, and progress. One of the zones is a small labyrinth with interactive elements that encourage logical thinking and exploratory play.
“I’m grateful to Paper Story LLC for joining this initiative and for sharing our vision. Our goal is not just to build a playground; we are creating an environment where play becomes learning, and public space becomes an opportunity for development. This playground will help children approach science through play and imagination,” noted Vanane Ararktsyan, Executive Director of the Keron Development Foundation.
“As a mother of three and someone who has been living in Armenia for four years now, it is especially important for me to contribute to initiatives aimed at children’s development and the creation of a high-quality public environment. Through our participation, we want to support projects that create safe, thoughtfully designed spaces for children and form long-term value for urban life,” added Karina Ayvazova, Executive Director of Paper Story LLC.
The modern playground will be inclusive, ensuring equal opportunities for all children. The opening of the playground is planned for the spring.
