Discussing the Role of Education at DigiTec 2025

Vanane Ararktsyan, Executive Director of the Keron Development Foundation, participated in the “EdTech Talks by Armath” panel discussion held within the framework of one of Armenia’s most anticipated technology events – DigiTec 2025.

The panel, titled “Diploma Factory or Talent Hub? What Is the Purpose of Formal Education and Does It Meet Labor Market Demands?”, took place on October 12 at the Meridian Expo Center.

Speakers of the educational conference organized by Armath included Hayk Engibaryan, Head of the Programs Department at the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia; Sergey Tantushyan, Head of the MBA Program and Lecturer in Business Communication and Strategy; Serob Khachatryan, Lecturer and Education Expert; and Sevak Sargsyan, Head of the CAST Research Center for Systems Programming. The panel was moderated by Levon Tadevosyan, Executive Director of the Technological Education Foundation and Director of Development at Armenian Code Academy.

Throughout the session, representatives of various educational programs and non-formal institutions in Armenia shared their visions and experiences, highlighting key challenges and potential solutions in the education sector.

In her remarks, Vanane Ararktsyan emphasized that one of the main challenges of formal education is preparing specialists who can meet the rapidly changing demands of the labor market. She presented the foundation’s flagship initiative – the Talent Pool program, which partly aims to address this gap by inviting highly qualified professionals from around the world to live, work, and share their expertise in Armenia. As a result, experts from the United States, France, Estonia, and Spain have already relocated to Armenia, contributing to the development of various fields across the country.
