Musical Metro

The Musical Metro initiative aims to transform the Yerevan metro system into a dynamic, open stage for live music performances. This unique project will bring small-format musical performances to the Yeritasardakan metro station every Thursday from January to March 2025. By incorporating live music into the daily commute, the project seeks to enrich the urban atmosphere and create memorable cultural experiences for metro passengers.

Objectives

• Enhancing the Urban Atmosphere: To make the city’s daily life more engaging by bringing live music to unexpected public spaces, creating positive and uplifting experiences for metro passengers.
• Creating a Vibrant Cultural Environment: To promote the integration of art and culture in everyday urban life, turning public transportation hubs into cultural landmarks.
• Supporting Young Talent: To provide a platform for young, emerging musicians to showcase their talents to a diverse audience in a highly accessible and public venue.

The project’s first performance was on January 9th with the Liberta Quartet.

Subsequent performances will be announced weekly, featuring a diverse lineup of musicians from different genres.

The Musical Metro project aims to inspire future cultural initiatives in public spaces across Yerevan. By successfully integrating music into the metro experience, the project serves as a model for creative urban interventions that enhance the quality of life in cities.
