The Final Design of the New Library is Ready

The final engineering and design vision of the new library project was presented today to the university community during a meeting with the leadership and representatives of the Keron Development Foundation.

The design phase has been completed, and after receiving a comprehensive expert review and the appropriate construction permits, extensive reconstruction, construction, and remodeling works will begin, resulting in a state-of-the-art library for YSMU.

According to the project, the reorganization of the laboratory building and adjacent roof will be carried out, with a clearly defined schedule of activities.

Jef van den Putte, co-founder and chief architect of Defesche van den Putte (DVDP) company, addressing the participants of the discussion, emphasized that he is delighted to work on this project:
“It will undoubtedly be a success. We already know the construction company, the university, and the rector, who is a very energetic person. I am confident that, as a result, we will gain not only a new library but also new friends,” said the expert who had arrived from Rotterdam.

Following him, Peter Defesche, the company’s co-founder and architect, noted that all the solutions included in the project are the result of many months of work.
Peter Defesche spoke about the project’s ambitions, both in terms of quality and quantity:
“This is not just a library project, but the creation of a new environment,” he said.

YSMU Rector Armen Muradyan and the head of the university’s internal committee for the creation of the new library, Vice-Rector for Development and Marketing Khachatur Margaryan, discussed a number of technical and content-related issues with the partners.

The intense meeting was filled with the exchange of ideas and, most importantly, a clear determination that after the construction is completed, the library complex will become a favorite place and a student hub for future doctors, lecturers, and young researchers.

Before the meeting, the Founder of the Keron Development Foundation Mareta Gevorkyan, Executive Director Vanane Ararktsyan, and foundation representatives, accompanied by Haikuhi Minasyan, Director of the “Soldier’s Home” Rehabilitation Center, toured the center, got acquainted with the history of its establishment, and learned about the numerous programs and achievements implemented for the rehabilitation of the servicemen.
