Construction of a New Public Playground Begins in the Khachkar Park
With the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Keron Development Foundation and Armbrok Investment Company, construction of a new public playground officially begins today in the Khachkar Park, located next to Republic Square. The area in front of Government Buildings 1 and 3, which was once part of the park but more recently served as a parking lot, has now been returned to the park and will become part of the playground.
This is the second project under the initiative to build public playgrounds in partnership with the Keron Development Foundation and the Kentron Administrative district of Kentron, and will be implemented with the support of Armbrok Investment Company. The first, “Karmrakhayt: Secrets of the Hidden River” playground, was opened on September 21 – The Independence Day of Armenia – in the Circular Park. The program aims to create public spaces that meet international standards and are designed for children of different age groups.
The new playground is intended for children aged 0–3 and 3–7, providing a comfortable, safe, and creative environment. Covering about 800 m², the playground is themed “Memory of the Tree of Life – Vishapagorg”. Inspired by the patterns and symbols of traditional Armenian carpets, the entire play space will be transformed into a world of creativity and imagination.
“I would like to thank Armbrok Investment Company for joining us in this project. I am confident that our collaboration will set a good precedent and spark a chain reaction among other organizations. This playground will be completed by the end of the year, and I am hopeful that Keron and Armbrok will share a long and successful journey together in this major public initiative,” said Vanane Ararktsyan, Executive Director of the Keron Development Foundation.
“I want to express my gratitude to the Keron Foundation for implementing this public playground project, as well as to the administrative district of Kentron for actively supporting such initiatives. We are very happy to contribute to the creation of this playground because it is extremely important for both the city and the country to have comfortable and beautiful environments for residents, children, and visitors alike. I also hope this project and collaboration will become contagious and continuous, and that soon we will see more public playgrounds in Armenia that meet international standards,” added Aram Kayfajyan, Chief Executive Officer of Armbrok Investment Company.
The new playground will be fully inclusive, ensuring equal opportunities for all children regardless of their physical abilities. It will help children develop imagination, motor skills, and social interaction, while creating a safe environment where parents and children can spend quality time together.
