Duration:
August 2025 – May 2026

The AybPRO project-based learning program is an innovative educational model based on the “learning by doing” principle. It simultaneously fosters students’ skill development and deepens their subject knowledge. First introduced at Ayb School in 2015, the program has been successfully implemented in Yerevan for several years. With the initiative of the Keron Development Foundation, it was launched at Dilijan’s only high school as a pilot educational project in the regions, offering students the opportunity to gain both academic knowledge and essential personal and collaborative skills. While implementing the projects, students developed key competencies such as teamwork, business thinking, responsibility, task planning and delegation, time management, communication, and initiative. This model prepares students to face 21st-century challenges by equipping them with critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration skills. It also fosters independence by encouraging students to take responsibility for their learning and decision-making.

The program ran within 12 months, including preparatory and evaluation phases. Within the project framework, three project clubs were formed at Dilijan High School: in the areas of territorial development, education, and tourism. With the support of project leaders, the high schoolers studied the needs of the Dilijan community, generated ideas for solving problems, developed projects, and presented them during professional discussions.

During the project implementation, students participated in a number of study visits, master classes, and mentoring sessions. They visited Loft Yerevan and Impact Hub Yerevan to learn about social entrepreneurship, impact initiatives, and sustainable community spaces. In addition, students visited Formula VC, where they learned about Armenia’s startup and technology ecosystem. Practical sessions on project management, fundraising, budgeting, communication skills, and strategic project development were also held for project participants. The students presented preliminary versions of their projects to the first committee, receiving professional questions and guidance. In subsequent stages, the teams continued to refine their ideas with the support of project managers and industry experts.

Finally, on May 20, the students presented their project ideas to the members of the selection committee. As a result, the educational club received the Evocabank grand prize of $3,500, as well as partnerships with Cabinet Restaurant and the GreenRock Foundation. The club will also have the opportunity to receive marketing consulting from Evocabank’s marketing team. The Territorial Development Club will receive some space to make the idea a come true; parallely, the jury members will continue to support the team as mentors. The Tourism Club will also continue to work with the jury members to further develop and implement the idea. The implementation of the “AybPRO” project in Dilijan was an important step towards transferring the project-based learning model to the marzes and providing students with practical educational experience. The project not only contributed to the development of the knowledge and skills of the participants but also encouraged them to notice the problems of their own community, think about solutions and bear responsibility for their implementation.

The local partner of the program in Dilijan is the Green Rock Foundation, which serves as the CSR arm of Green Rock, leading projects in education, culture, and ecology through meaningful investments and strategic partnerships. The foundation supports the implementation of this educational program with the goal of fostering the educational, social, and economic development of the community.
